'Twilight' studio Summit Entertainment grabs Roman Polanski's 'Ghost Writer'

What will Summit's big post-"Twilight" film be?

We just heard that the studio bought the rights to controversial director Roman Polanski's new movie, "The Ghost Writer."
It's doubtful Mr. P will be making any press trips stateside to promote the film in the US. He's still under house arrest in France.

Summit will reportedly release the film, an adaptation of "The Ghost" by Robert Harris, stateside in the early 2010.

"The Ghost Writer" is the story of a former British Prime Minister (played by Pierce Brosnan) who is writing his memoirs on a remote island off the eastern coast of the U.S.

When Brosnan's assistant dies, a professional ghostwriter (Ewan McGregor) arrives to help him finish the book.

Wonder if Ewan will have to take his shirt off -- like Taylor Lautner -- in this Summit film?

How do you feel about Summit, the studio that releases "The Twilight Saga" aimed at tweens, teens and young adults, releasing a film by a director convicted of raping a 13-year-old a few decades ago?

Just wondering. Because other people may be wondering too.

Keep Polanski away from Taylor Lautner and Dakota Fanning ;)

WOW! Have to admit I'm stunned that they would have any association with that sicko a-hole. Polanski stinks and this is a slap in the face to the women who have made this studio and made it possible for them to by any movie. I really have to think about this and I would advise all the mothers and daughters pumping money into Summit to take a step back and make your voice count. This STINKS BIG TIME. Polanski STINKS!
