As a second post, this is for Tiger. You have obviously been burned, so in a vision of protecting what you have already acheived, you should admit that you were caught. Say that you were young, stupid and impressionable, letting your Little Head do the thinking for your Big Head. Let these women spread their stories, after you own up to the accusations. That makes their stories less valuble to the media. DO NOT Pay these trash extotionists.
Look at it this way. You were the best golfer, you are the best golfer, and will be the best golfer for a hell of a long time. You my man have already made your future of all the immaginary dreams you could have ever had. If it is necessary to say goodbye to the famous companies that use yor talent to promote their products, if they decide to severe your ties, so be it. Continue to be the best, and many companies will return for you as testimonials of their products, At this point it may look like a crisis to you, but this type of crisis is what 99.999 percent of all the people in the world would love to have.
If you said the game, and means of making the money you have already were all gone today, what exactly would you have left? One billion dollars earning one percent equals ten million dollars a year for the rest of your life and your family as well. Tiger, if that kind of income is some sort of dreaded fear to you, then you have more problems with self confidence than you do with existing crisis you believe you are in.
Tiger, save your marriage if you can, and want it. Write a book telling all while you are away. which will take the ability of these stories, attempting to make money for these women, out of the equation!

I think Tiger needs to answer to his family and no one else. He's done an unthinkable think and will pay dearly. God is the only person who can help him and his girlfriends. I don't think he needs to pay these women a dang thing because they had it all planned and he to should have known that, just take a look at them, they do not even respect themselves let along anyone else.
