Tiger Woods: I'm taking a break from golf
Tiger Woods says he's taking an "indefinite break" from the PGA Tour to try to fix his personal life.In a statement on his web site late Friday, Woods -- who, you are no doubt aware, has been dogged by an seemingly endless string of revelations about his alleged extramarital affairs in the past few weeks -- says he's "deeply aware" that his infidelity (his word) has hurt his family.
"It may not be possible to repair the damage I've done, but I want to do my best to try," the statement reads.
"I am deeply aware of the disappointment and hurt that my infidelity has caused to so many people, most of all my wife and children. I want to say again to everyone that I am profoundly sorry and that I ask forgiveness. It may not be possible to repair the damage I've done, but I want to do my best to try.
"I would like to ask everyone, including my fans, the good people at my foundation, business partners, the PGA Tour, and my fellow competitors, for their understanding. What's most important now is that my family has the time, privacy, and safe haven we will need for personal healing.
"After much soul searching, I have decided to take an indefinite break from professional golf. I need to focus my attention on being a better husband, father, and person.
"Again, I ask for privacy for my family and I am especially grateful for all those who have offered compassion and concern during this difficult period."
What do you think? Good move on Tiger's part? Will it cost him endorsement money?

Leave Tiger alone already. So what, he cheated on his wife. We've all cheated at least once. Just leave him alone you media hungry bastards.
Tiger did a terrible thing to his wife, his children and the women he was with. He needs to get help. I hope he can make it right with his family and not loose them, but it is going to take a lot of work for both him and his wife. I would not blame his wife if she cannot forgive him. I would not blame her.
You know she's happy, the biatch gets HALF if they get divorced.
The man is scum!!! I hope his wife takes him to the cleaners and then leaves for Sweden. He should have thought about losing his family when he was fooling around!
At first I felt for Tiger's indiscretion, but after so many times of indiscretions, I say to his wife, take the money and run. It is impossible to forgive any man after what he has attempted with all these women and he doesn't deserve to be accepted back by his wife. One indiscretion can be salvaged between a man and a woman but a dozen...NO WAY.
Hope the self-righteous smutmongers are happy now. After all, it was their daily moralizing and twisted fixation on every sordid aspect of Tiger's life that finally drove the man to bow out. No matter how it's spun, golf will not be the same without him. Regardless of his flaws, Tiger brought thousands of fans and millions in profit to the sport. No other golfer holds that sway. And never will.
We have all NOT cheated once in our lives and I hate that people try to normalize this behavior.
I was thinking the same as "tvel" was when reading the post from Tony.
Tony may need some help too.
He walked around with on hand on a gulf club and the other on his balls and a gleam in his eyes that told lies to his wife every time he looked at her.
I don’t know about you folks but I cant tolerate a compulsive lier.
I think Tiger is headed to rehab rather than on his yacht as he would have us believe.
Also, Tiger is the homewrecker....NOT the women he chased.
