Steven Tyler back in rehab for painkiller addiction

Aerosmith singer Steven Tyler has entered rehab -- for the second time in two years -- for addiction to prescription drugs.
"With the help of my family and team of medical professionals, I am taking responsibility for the management of my pain and am eager to be back on the stage and in the recording studio with my bandmates Joe Perry, Joey Kramer, Tom Hamilton and Brad Whitford," Tyler's statement reads.
Tyler, 61, at right at the Glamour Women of the Year event, has orthopedic injuries, severe chronic pain and requires additional surgeries on his knees and feet, as a result of decades of performing.
Tyler fell off a stage during a concert in August, breaking his shoulder, alarming even his bandmates.

Kramer tells People, "I think that he needs help and that attention needs to be put to his health," adding that Tyler, who battled drug addiction in the '70s and 80s, had "isolated himself."
Perhaps the tragic news of Brittany Murphy's death at age 32 and the alleged use of multiple prescription drugs spark Tyler's re-rehab?
Let's hope the talented singer can get his pain under control and his addiction treated.

It's not Aerosmith without Steven Tyler but he's a mess. He needs to take care of himself and Aerosmith needs to finally split up and those members that are capable should focus on side projects.
Steven needs to s-t or get off the pot..that is, let his Aerosmith band buddies know, like,is it over, or not? Sure, he's important, but he's not all THAT important, that Aerosmith can't carry on just fine without him. He's really kind of a prima donna - sorta like Roger Waters, thinking Pink Floyd couldn't survive without HIM!Pink Floyd survived just fine, thank you,for as long as they chose to, and so will Aerosmith. These overinflated ego-trippers need to wake up to the fact that they are stars, not Gods, and they are replaceable!
