Levi Johnston sued by Bristol Palin for custody of son Tripp

The Alaska Dispatch is reporting that Bristol Palin filed a suit on Nov. 4 suing Levi Johnston for sole custody of their one-year-old son Tripp. Happy Birthday, Tripp! (Dec. 28 is his first birthday.)The reason it's just coming to light now? The judge denied Palin's motion for the proceedings to be kept private, using John and Jane Doe in lieu of Johnston and Palin's real names.
Johnston said in a statement that he hopes the public nature of the proceedings will keep Sarah Palin out of it, saying that he and Bristol can "work things out a lot more peacefully than we could if there is any more meddling from Sarah Palin."
Bristol released a statement saying, "The best interests of the child are served by protecting Tripp's privacy, keeping this case between the parties and not involving the media in this private matter."
Frankly, we can see why Bristol would want to keep this out of the public eye... and why Levi wouldn't. He has kind-of this frat boy persona going on and the court of public opinion will probably help him weather this custody hearing and come out looking pretty good, regardless of whether he is granted custody or not.
We can't help but wonder if all of Levi's exposure (going to the Teen Choice Awards with Kathy Griffin, his mom's drug bust, posing for Playgirl) will hinder his quest to get shared custody of his son?

Interesting. This was before Sarah appeared on "Oprah" and invited Levi to Thanksgiving. I'm surprised she was able to do that with a straight look on her face.
Seriously though, thank goodness these two didn't get married, especially for little Tripp's sake.

Why are people so quick to attack Levi? Sarah's kid, Bristol, played loose and gets a free ride? Don't think so! Two dumb kids, for sure. But Levi hasn't done anything that should prevent him from sharing custody of his son. And Sarah can go kiss a hockey stick, her family is tied to the hunky Levi for life.
JM, You don't know when Oprah was taped so that may not be the case.
Secondly You have to have good reason to get sole custody. Doing tv interviews and posing semi nude in a magazine is not grounds for sole custody. Typical hick being stupid.
