What's the biggest misconception about red carpet dressing?

"As silly as this sounds, the dresses that everyone loved to look at were not necessarily the ones I loved to wear."

What are your favorite frocks?

"I loved the cream vintage Herve Leger dress I wore to the Globes last year.

"And I really loved the red Basil Soda gown I wore to a BAFTA event recently."

How about that sexy liquid silver SAG gown?

"Oh yes, that was a Pamela Roland gown. That one needed some sucking in. It was unmerciful. You were in big trouble if you'd had a big lunch."

And the London "Victoria" premiere gown?

"Oh, that was Vivienne Westwood. I saw it on a rack and when I put it on it was so cool and it had pockets. It was really edgy and different. I'm such a fan of Vivienne."

How about wearing bright colors?

"I wore royal blue for the Oscars when I presented. That was a Calvin Klein and it was one of the most comfortable dresses I have ever worn. I loved the color and the simplicity."

Are you considering colors for the upcoming awards season?

"I have done some color, just not a lot. I haven't done a lurid green yet.  I have worn a bright purple dress but I will need some Dutch courage to wear green."

Translation: Dutch courage means a stiff drink.

Does she ever get nervous about what she's wearing?

"You always get that panic when you step out of the car that everyone going to hate it."

Any serious fashion faux pas?

"I've had zippers that have broken. Once when I was about to go on 'The Ellen Degeneres Show,' my sister looked at the back of my legs and went 'Ohmygod, ohmygod, ohmygod!

"I had a huge ladder (that's Brit-speak for a stocking run) up the back of my leg and the women on the show had to run around like chickens without their heads on to find me some new stockings. "

We can totally relate.
