Brittany Murphy's autopsy was conducted and concluded Monday afternoon.

But we still don't know what caused her sudden death at age 32 on Sunday, December 20.

It's now being reported that it will be five or six weeks before toxicology reports deduced from a slice of her brain can be finished and released.

Radaronline reports that results were deferred pending toxicology and neurological test results.

A source in the LA County Coroners office says, "Autopsy surgeons took a slice of her brain for testing. It will be 5-6 weeks for test results to come through."

Reports are that the LAPD is investigating the possibility of a prescription drug overdose.
