Ashlee 'Crazy Eyes' Simpson-Wentz debuts on Broadway in 'Chicago'

Give 'em the old razzle-dazzle, Crazy Eyes. Razzle dazzle 'em.
Hollywood Life says:
Watching Ashlee act on stage was like watching a 1920s cartoon character come to life! Part Betty Boop, part Olive Oil, Ashlee had the audience in stitches with every goofy face and whip-smart zinger. Her performance was basically the flipside of how Renee Zellweger portrayed criminal-of-passion Roxie Hart in the 2002 film version of Chicago -- and we loved her all the more for it!
While Jessica Simpson's Twitter account says:
Roxie was all Heart!Watching her up on that grandiose stage made me the proudest sister in the world. I love ya honey, I love ya!. Grrrrrrr ... Night #2 :) I'm so proud!! Butterflies all over again!!!Papa Joe told People:
We're going to be here. We're going to be seeing our baby on Broadway. That's where we'll be ... She's here 'til Feb. 8. She does eight shows a week. She's going to be here working, and that's a great place to be.We're glad to see Ashlee getting good reviews on Broadway, since right now we're totally grossed out by her sexual-relationship-with-adopted-brother "Melrose Place" storyline.

Oh grow up, Andrea. "Grossed out" by two fictional characters who have no blood relation? Seriously? You act like this is Papa Simpson oogling Jessica's ta-tas again.
I mean, it's freakin' MELROSE PLACE. If you can't handle the grown up adult TELEVISON stories, then switch to PBS.
I'm so sick of this "grossed out" business. Exactly what is gross about two misfit adults romantically intertwined? Explain, please.
Actually, I didn't think she was that bad on Melrose. I think it's interesting that people who have never acted in their lives are so quick to negatively judge those who do. Some people don't like her or her sister and aren't going to like them in any part.
Not that you're necessarily directing that at Andrea, Amy, but her BA is in Theatre and she has quite a bit of acting experience, actually.
I wasn't directing that towards anyone in particular, Claire. I've seen posts saying Ashlee's terrible and I just think some people are being a little harsh, that's all. She does get the parts. I personally didn't think she was that bad.
i didn't think she was that bad on MP either. i kinda liked the crazy girl!!
