"Prince of Persia: Sands of Time" trailer -- starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Ben Kingsley, Alfred Molina and Gemma Arterton, is finally out.
Sure looks like a ancient world spectacle, doesn't it? We could look at Jake muscles all day long.
But haven't we had enough of all that killer sand in "The Mummy" franchise?
What do you think of "Persia?"
Intrigued or over it?

Lame.
It's not exactly chilly, but there's not much chemistry between Gyllenhaal and Arterton. They're just staring at each other and trading not-very-witty one-liners.That does not bode well for the climax of this story, which relies entirely on the relationship between their respective characters (assuming they stay faithful to the game, which it very well may not).
Urgh, I played the game, so perhaps that's why I'm so picky, but I have a big problem with Arterton's character narrating this trailer. It's actually a crucial plot point that the PRINCE is the narrator of the story, but maybe they changed that for reasons that I cannot see until May. But for now, ehhhhhhhh. They took none of the good things from the game and everything bad.
if it's set in persia why are the cast white?
The accents are vomitaceous. Arterton especially sucks with her plummy Mayfair sound. Jakey seems simply silly. I smell disaster coming unless they redo it in American English.
why does Jake Gyllenhaal sound like and act like Orlando Bloom?
I personally thought this film was very good, Its easy to consider these kinds of films will be rubbish as other game to movie ideas have been disasters. I gave this a try mainly because of Ben Kingsley. I'm glad I did. The dialogue is rather flat but the characters are good the acting is pretty good Ben is first-rate as per usual. And persia and its setting look fantastic. It also comes with a good plot! Well worth a watch! 7/10
I don't know why some people are so against Prince of Persia. It was quite enjoyable to watch. I don't actually go to movies to learn Latin or discover the secrets of the world. And yet, PoP did have a lot of good values to share. I liked the plot, the acting, the special effects, cinematography and the music! What's not to like really? I rather think that Jake and Gemma had great chemistry. But I guess most people these days think that chemistry really mean showing more skin and having a lot more tongue action. What a pity!
