Charla Nash, the Connecticut woman mauled by a 200-pound pet chimpanzee belonging to a friend last February, appeared on "Oprah" today. She was trying to help her friend get the chimp back inside her house when the attack occurred.
Nash, 56, revealed "the remnants of her missing eyes,
nose and lips," as ABC News described it.
Nash says she feels no pain. She tries not to
touch her face. She doesn't want to feel the full extent of her injuries.
"I don't ask a whole lot about my injuries. ... I know
that I have my forehead," she said. She drinks meals through a straw inserted in a small hole where her mouth used to be..
Nash lost both her hands in the attack, her nose,
an eyelid and her lips. Doctors had to remove her eyes due to an infection.
She's circumspect about her condition. "I'm the same person I've always been," she said. "I just look different. There are things that happen to you in life that you can't change.".
Nash now wears a veil so as not to frighten people.
This makes me cry. I have no words.

looking at the video and how the face of charla nash (the 55 year old girl who got her face ripped-off by a chimpanzee) was really gruesome and one may think that Oprah may gone a little bit too far for the interview.
The person was already under in veil, wouldn't it be better if she stays in that way? rather than getting it unveiled for Public Watching.
Please let Charla know - I remember when this first happened. After seeing her on Oprah once the initial shock of seeing her wore off, all I saw was a beautiful person. In her speaking, what happened - happened. She is STILL who she was, her physical appearance is changed but when she speaks.. shes Charla. One brave proud of who she still is - woman! She is still alive for a reason. God bless her !!
