Tiger Woods releases statement: 'My wife Elin acted courageously.'
Tiger Woods has not yet spoken to the authorities about his crash. They've reportedly tried twice to see him and wife, Elin Nordergren.
But he has found time to type out a statement to his fans and post it on his website.
What, no Twitter?
Here's his full statement:
This is a private matter and I want to keep it that way. Although I understand there is curiosity, the many false, unfounded and malicious rumors that are currently circulating about my family and me are irresponsible."As you all know, I had a single-car accident earlier this
week, and sustained some injuries. I have some cuts, bruising and right
now I'm pretty sore.
This situation is my fault, and it's obviously
embarrassing to my family and me. I'm human and I'm not perfect. I will
certainly make sure this doesn't happen again.
The only person responsible for the accident is me. My wife, Elin, acted courageously when she saw I was hurt and in trouble. She was the first person to help me. Any other assertion is absolutely false.
This incident has been stressful and very difficult for Elin, our family and me. I appreciate all the concern and well wishes that we have received. But, I would also ask for some understanding that my family and I deserve some privacy no matter how intrusive some people can be."
What do you think about his statement? Has it all been much ado about nothing? Or where there's smoke, might there be fire?

It's NONE of our business. Even thought he's a public figure, he's still entitled to a private life.
What? Defending your wife makes you a ***** now? tsktsk
I THINK IT IS FUNNY PEOPLE ARE FAMOUSE AND STILL WANT TO LIVE IN THE DARK SORRY DOESNT HAPPEN LIKE THAT
I'd be pretty embarassed if my wife smacked me in the head with one of my golf clubs too.....
A man who releases a public statement and yet refuses to talk to the police is not exactly doing everything he can to avoid publicity and deter speculation.
deb, you're actually wrong. the statement needed to be said to try to quell the rumors. By law, he's not required to talk to the police!
There's public life, and there'private life... just because he's a celeb doesn't mean EVERY aspect of his life has to be public!
Another overpaid and overhyped celebrity that can't keep it in his pants.
And love how the wife just happened to come to the scene with a ready-in-hand golf club to use. Then saying she used a golf cart to go see him. Who the F would go looking for a gold cart to use to go to a nearby crash rather than just run. They are both hiding something. Considering how quick he loses his temper and has a tantrum on the golf course after a missed shot, you have to wonder what really happened in that house. Idiots
