Patrick Swayze scholarship fund started by Arabian Horse Foundation

Patrick Swayze and his wife Lisa used to own Arabian horses; they even competed in shows. Now the Arabian Horse Foundation has started a Patrick Swayze scholarship fund.
The Patrick Swayze scholarship will be given out annually to a youth involved with Arabian horses who also wants a career in performing arts. The fund was started with a donation from Iron Horse Farms in Canton, GA.

President of the foundation Larry Kinneer told the Associated Press that the scholarship honors the Swayzes' "love of the Arabian breed and contributions over the years to AHA youth programs."

Wouldn't have been our first guess for an organization to start a Patrick Swayze scholarship. In fact, we would've guessed some sort of Johnny Castle, Bodhi or even a Jim Cunningham scholarship before we would've guessed "Arabian horses." Nevertheless, good for them.
