'Gossip Girl' Leighton Meester sings 'Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)'

"Gossip Girl" Blair Waldorf might be flailing about trying to figure out the lack-of-class-system at college, but actress Leighton Meester is busy carving out out a crossover singing career for herself with a redux of a seasonal classic tune.

Just like Mariah Carey and U2 before her, she's recorded a poppy version of the song, "Christmas (Baby, Please Come Home)" and it has an old-fashioned Girl Group kinda sound.

Still, tough shoes to fill. What's next? Redoing Marilyn Monroe's "Happy Birthday, Mr. President"?
