Did Photoshop downsize Demi Moore on W cover?

article-0-07278453000005DC-310_468x597.jpg

Web watchers have noted that Demi Moore is so skinny on the new cover of W that she looks more like Nicole Ritchie (pre-Joel Madden and motherhood).

Hey, Is that part of her left hip that's gone missing? Let's find out what happened to it.
demi moore hip.jpgAccording to Jezebel.com, W magazine claims any retouching was done in-house by the staff of photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott.

Naturally, a spokesperson says that they did not do anything unusual on Demi Moore for the photo.

They said that Demi is an extraordinary beautiful woman and "we feel our cover reflects that.'

Extraordinary skinny too.

The actress, in a Balmain metal mesh and leather dress, was dubbed a Demi Goddess in the  mag.

And because we're trying to mind our manners on the all new Dish Rag this is the part where we're not going to say, "Please eat a cheeseburger Demi."

What do  you think?

Is it too much retouching? Or is there something else going on?

It is creepy, very creepy.

Not true! It's real, it's simple anatomy playing a visual trick on you. Look at this diagram I created on this blog I created just because I am so passionate about this point: http://demimooreshipisreal.blogspot.com/

Definitely to much retouching!
She's an attractive and trim woman to begin with, but this photo is crazy; she looks alien-like and a little deformed.
Just a bad job...

What is she rally known for is lack of waist! She never had that waist in her life and to produce one from the body that she has, there isn't a operation in this world! Except Photoshop, of course! Take a look in Charlie's Angels when she comes with the surfing board out of the water..you can see clearly that this is not her waist!

No. There is no photoshopping of the thigh/hip in this photo. The thigh/hip area is natural. The "dimple" is a consequence of the pose.

I found a photo of an old sculpture of a female model in the classic contrapposto pose. Although the model is much heavier, she has the dimple in her thigh/hip area. I went a step further and traced the model's outline, much like bbonyx at BoingBoing did with the Demi photo. Then, I compared the two. See the results below:

Very similar!

If the model had been thinner, you'd even see a much closer match.

I was blown away when I saw it on the stand. I've admired how the gorgeous cougar has aged (my age, yikes) but my first thought was TOUCH UP, and the second was, HUNGRY. Is that what she must do to keep a babe?
