Def Jam VP arrested for not Tweeting out Justin Bieber mall riot

angry-mob copy.jpgTwitter has jumped the shark.

More intel surfaces in the Justin Bieber Roosevelt Mall riots -- James A. Roppo, senior VP at Island Def Jam records, has been arrested for not helping out with crowd control by sending a Twitter message.

Newsday is reporting:

Police arrested a senior vice president from Bieber's label, Island Def Jam Records, James A. Roppo, 44, of Hoboken, N.J., saying he hindered their crowd-control efforts by not cooperating. He was in custody Friday night, pending charges that could include criminal nuisance, endangering the welfare of a minor and obstructing government administration, Smith said. "We asked for his help in getting the crowd to go away by sending out a Twitter message," Smith said. "By not cooperating with us we feel he put lives in danger and the public at risk."

Um... what?  You couldn't handle thousands of tween girls and you blame a man for not Twittering? Because angry mobs can be dissuaded by messages on their phones. Isn't this what you have tear gas and billy clubs for?

Newsday got that story from The Onion. Right? Right?

never heard of him.

The duty to twitter on demand is spelled out in the constitution? Not. But if one urged the masses to riot and they caused damage, could there be a civil duty to prevent damages by any reasonable means possible so as to limit one's liaiblity? Possibly.

No offense; I hardly listen to the radio, tv, only newspaper and for HW, but I have to say...Whose this teen who goes by the name of Justin Bieber? I need to be updated.

So clueless...sorry *sweatdrop*
