I find it very disappointing, that this being America, a person whether on or off television, cannot answer a simple question that she was FORCED to answer onstage in front of millions of people, without being crucified. She was very polite, very respectful, spoke from the heart and gave her HONEST opinion, WHICH IS WHAT SHE WAS ASKED TO DO. She did not use bad language, nor slurs, nor say anything derogatory. Anyone degrading, insulting, or abusing this woman for answering a simple question should grow up and go get a life.
In view of some of the tacky, and low-class comments on this post, I'd like to say this. The woman did NOTHING wrong. She respectfully and politely answered a question that was MANDATORY for her to answer in front of millions, not suggested by her, but forced to be answered by the judges. If you don't like worms, don't open the can. It's like they 'set her up' on purpose, or anyone else who would have been unfortunate enough to have 'picked' that question from the fishbowl that fateful evening. There is absolutely NOTHING WRONG with giving an honest answer especially when given with kindness, respect for others, and tactfulness, which she indeed displayed. Which is more than I can say for some of the vulgar, crude, and immature comments I've read thus far .....
Interesting how so many people know her personal belief about same-sex marriage, but so few notice that she also praised America as a land where people who think differently can make their own choices?
She was explicitly stating that she does not approve of "cramming it down" anyone's throat. If it is a popular decision to restrict marriage, that is one thing, but her words seem to say she would not support any other restriction.
Yes, being blindsided by this very loaded question flustered her quite a bit, very understandably.
King knew full well she was legally barred from answering the questions he was asking her. He was warned.
Whether or not by conscious intent, he was manipulating her to commit a crime!
Separating herself from the threat was appropriate. King was not. She did it right.
I'd really like to see more people bother to find out what a hypocrite is. If you did, you'd see Prejean cannot qualify.
Her professions and her behavior are consistent; she lives what she preaches--now.
A hypocrite professes one code and lives another--at the same time. Her past indiscretions are just that: past. History. She's made changes. She's set things right.
And that's ASSUMING that her tape is a horrid sin, which makes the noise I see around here strange, coming from people who seem unconcerned with the same kind of thing from other people. Where's the stink about, say, Pam Anderson's hardcore video?

Just being here is sustaining her presence and power. If she really doesn't deserve attention, why do so many people give it to her?
No, it's not that simple is it? There's more to it. People don't take time and trouble to come to these things and post gripes about her for no reason. Since she's done nobody any harm, it's hard to find out just where the motivation is coming from.
She's only "there" as long as you keep her there.
