Who should replace Diane Sawyer on 'Good Morning America?'
Diane Sawyer is leaving "Good Morning America" to begin anchoring "World News" in January when anchor Charles Gibson retires.
She will become just the second female to anchor an evening news show,
following in the footsteps of Katie Couric, who left "Today" to anchor
the "CBS Evening News" in 2006.
This got us thinking ... who should replace Ms. Sawyer on the "GMA"
set? Helen Mirren, a seasoned veteran who, like Diane, is also married
to an an Oscar-winner? Ellen Degeneres, whose ubiquitousness makes her

I am sorry to hear that Diane Sawyer is leaving. I have watched the show from day 1 but if George Stephanopoulos replaces her, I will not watch the show anymore. Please do not consider him for her replacement!!!!
A few names come to mind. The first would be Sam Champion. People are already used to seeing him on the show for the weather as well as a substitute. Elizabeth Vargas isi another name who is very well known. I would consider either of the Ling Sisters as well. I would even consider Cokie Roberts. I think they should look at somebody who is already in journalism and somebody who is somewhat farmiliar to the show either as a consultant and/or substitute or somebody known on the news.
diane sawyer should go back to gma. she is terrible on world news which she has turned into good evening america, there is no world news on itanymore.george stephenopolus would do well in that slot
