Elizabeth Taylor tweets about new heart procedure, asks for prayers

What is more shocking? That Elizabeth Taylor tweets? Or that she's headed to the hospital for a heart procedure?

The 77-year-old actress tells her Twitter followers that she is going to undergo a "very new" procedure to improve heart function that "involves repairing my leaky valve using a clip device" rather than open-heart surgery.

"Any prayers you happen to have lying around I would dearly appreciate," Taylor wrote Tuesday, adding that she will let her nearly 160,000 Twitter followers -- she's been @DameElizabeth since March 31 -- know when the procedure is complete. 

No word on where or when. 

The Associated Press had not heard back from Taylor's rep.
