Stephenie Meyer's 'The Host' to become a film. Twilighters, your thoughts?
Apparently, when the producers asked Meyer what her fave sci-fi flicks were, Meyer mentioned both "The Truman Show" and "Gattaca" in the top five.
But no bloodsuckers. This time it's benign extraterrestrial parasites called Souls. One such Soul – dubbed the Wanderer -- joins itself to a dying human to find the survivors of the human race.
Got any casting ideas/suggestions?

I want Rob to get away from the clutches of Meyer. I'm sure he'd never touch her awful work again.
Could not be happier. "The Host" is a truly great sci-fi novel. Andrew Niccol's "Gattaca" was a truly great sci-fi movie. I can't wait to see the "The Host" on the big screen.
I don't think The Host will be that popular as the Twilight movie series because Twilight featured a popular subject among girls which was Vampires and that mixed with the genre of Romance made it a big hit, but my opinion is that Twilight fans will support The HOST movie along with Original fans of the Novel "The Host." I look forward to seeing it though :)
Mary Elizabeth Winstead would be PERFECT for the role of Melanie.
I DO NOT think that, if The Host becomes a movie that Robert Pattinson should be let anywhere NEAR the set or be in the cast. He will just eff everything up! I am so excited that it is going to be made into a movie though!!! It's about time!!! Get Eliza Dushku to play Melanie/Wanderer!!!!!

For casting, even though Meyer describes Ian as blue eyed & fair, think Taylor Lautner would make an incredible IAN. He suits the character. I also see the character of Jared looking like someone more rugged like the lead singer of NICKELBACK. I don't know about Melanie but Wanda after Melanie would should be played by someone like DALLAS (what's her last name) from New Moon. I hope they cast wisely- and I love the character IAN because he intensly loves Wanderer. They need someone hot like Lautner for that role :-)
I think Christopher Walken would make an awesome Jeb.
I agree that Mary Elizabeth Winstead would make a good Melanie.
I would love to see Tom Welling playing Jared.
In my dream world, Paul Walker would play Ian.
I love this book and I am sooo excited to see it become a movie. I am ready for more to come out in this series.
I really like that its becoming a movie. I personally thought The Host was a better book than Twilight. I don't exactly know why considering i'm also a teen girl. I think Ian Somerhalder would be aweosme for the part of Ian or his brother. He just fits the character. Don't know about Jared.
I want you to know that i think you are a great author. and you have done an excellent job on these books. My daughter along with her friends they can't stop talking about the books. The first series of books that she has read yet. So thanks so very much.
