Screenwriters file lawsuit over Universal's 'Love Happens' script -- Or is it 'Love Rewritten'?

According to TMZ, two screenwriters claim the script for Jennifer Aniston's new movie "Love Happens" was stolen from their script.

Greg Crowder and Tony Freitas just filed a lawsuit claiming they gave a script titled "The Truth" to Scott Bernstein in 2006 -- back when he was vice president of production at NBC Universal.

Crowder reportedly had multiple meetings with Bernstein about the "Truth." Bernstein told Crowder it needed a rewrite. Crowder said he'd do it if Universal paid. No dice. No deal. Or that's what they say.

But was the script later tweaked into a Aniston/Aaron Eckhart vehicle called "Love Happens"?

It will be interesting to see how this turns out and what similarities there are in the two scripts.

In the meantime, will this legal snafu cause a postponement of the release of "Love Happens"?

Universal says "no comment" on the story.
