Mackenzie Phillips says her dad John Phillips gave her the first shot of drugs
Mackenzie Phillips, the actress ("One Day at a Time") and daughter of Mamas and Papas founder John Phillips, has struggled with drug abuse and been in and out of recovery programs all her adult life.
She was arrested last year at LAX, allegedly for cocaine and heroin possession, while on her way to a "Time" cast reunion in New York.
But on Oprah Winfrey's show Wednesday, Mackenzie finally tells the truth about who first got her into intravenous drugs -- and even more shocking tales -- when she was young.
Her father, John Phillips.

How can we be 100% sure that this is a true story whereby the father is not alive to testify his own side of the story if surely is a consensual relationship if so it's a consensual contract between two of them. Mackenzie Phillips would never have come out and said anything while her father was alive. I wish I could hug her and can only hope she's been getting therapy for years to heal. MacKenzie is a strong woman to still be alive but I It's always the parent's fault.
She's trying to sell a book. Druggies will say whatever it takes to scam people out of a buck.
John and McKenzie Phillips did the talk show circuit together years and years ago talking about how they did drugs together. This part isn't news. The incest is new info, though.
Nobody would make something this yukky up. I can't believe people think she would invent this to sell a book. This is grotesque and will always be with her. I wish her well and hope she heals.
Telling of something like rape, molestation and/or incest is a horrible and digusting act.
If this grown woman (be it doped or not) comes forth to tell the secret that she has had to deal with all these years, you should understand first that it IS NOT an easy thing to do! It's embarrassing at the least to tell of such traumatic events.
Dont forget she was Molested as a child, that is not normal.
After the molestation begins and then being doped up, how woud she have known that it was NOT Right?
She needs our sympathy and understanding. Remember this... Rape and/or molestation will affect anyone for the rest of their lives... YOU will NEVER forget. she is obviously trying to get on with her life and release the pain that she has endured. "IF YOU yourself have never been reaped or molested" then you have no idea what its like or what she is going through or has gone through.
She is a human just as we all are and deserves respect with out persecution!
The book was really awesome. No matter what anybody says she is one couragous woman to talk about her life. That is how healing begins and keep looking forward to life. Once the past is talked about it is no use to live in the past and life must go on.

they both were incredibly and unusually closed like no other.
Consensual or not, it makes no difference, if we are talking about that long time.
undoubtedly they enjoyed their relationship to the full.
