Report: Katherine Heigl expecting -- a 10-month-old baby girl -- next week?

Katherine_Eric_16871383_600 So much for that leave of absence from "Grey's Anatomy" to do a movie.

The buzz is that Katherine Heigl is going to have her hands pretty full with another important job: caring for her new baby daughter!

RadarOnline.com is reporting that Heigl is adopting a baby girl this week. We've reached out to Katherine's publicist to confirm or deny the adoption, but calls and e-mails have not been returned yet.

Heigl and husband Josh Kelley have long wanted a baby for a long time and the process has been ongoing for many months.

According to RadarOnline.com, the 10-month-old baby is Korean. Her name is Nayleigh and her nickname will be Leigh.

Heigl always planned to adopt. "I'm done with the whole idea of having my own children," Heigl once told USA Today. "[It] doesn't seem like any fun. I don't think it's necessary to go through all of that."

Somewhere in there is a funny joke about the "Knocked Up" star not wanting to get knocked up.

The only hitch to this adoption news is that Katherine is reportedly starting "Life as We Know It" filming next week.

Hey, wonder if her pal T.R. Knight will be the baby's godfather?

I am happy that another beautiful baby is going to have a family....as a mother-to-be of a baby from Korea, I know how precious adoption is. However, Korean regulates that adoptive families be married at least 3 years, and normally a girl child is not matched with a family unless that family already has boy children. Just wondering how they might have gotten by that. Either way, congratulations!!

I was wondering too, but I just read that the baby is special needs. I know they will sometimes make exceptions for waiting children.

My husband and I are adopting from Poland.

I wondered the same thing. It's been ongoing for a few months? I've been waiting almost a year.

The part that rubbed me the wrong way the most was about having "her own" children. Umm, baby Leigh is her own child. How & why do people differentiate???
