John Travolta finally admits his son Jett was autistic. What took so long?

Travolta

John Travolta finally revealed in a Bahamian courtroom what he was never able to say publicly when his son, Jett, was alive.

"He was autistic," Travolta told the court during the extortion trial. "He suffered from a seizure disorder."

Travolta said Jett suffered seizures every five to 10 days and that each seizure lasted around 45 seconds. Jett would often sleep for 12 hours after an episode.

Earlier today, the actor described the events on Jan. 2, the day of his son's death.

Jett's nanny awakened Travolta and Kelly Preston at roughly 10:15 a.m., the actor said, telling them Jett was unconscious in his bathroom.

One of Jett's caretakers was already performing chest compressions. Travolta began administering CPR to his son, whom he also acknowledged on the stand had not only Kawasaki disease but also autism.

The trial concerns extortion charges against Pleasant Bridgewater, a former senator, and Tarino Lightbourne, an ambulance driver, who are alleged to have attempted to extort $25 million from Travolta in connection with his son's death.

Bahamian officials arrested in Travolta extortion scheme!

What kind of creeps would try to extort money from a grieving family?

He missed an opportunity to help so many other parents of autistic parents that don't have the means

John Travolta didn't have to justify his son's condition to you or to anybody else. How is knowing their business helpful? Gossipers and journalists, and I am loathe to refer to them in the same sentence, think they need to know every shred of information about everybody. Jett's condition was nobody's business except his family's. So now you know. So what?

His autism was probably caused by excessive toxicity. Travolta mentioned his child was exposed to many carpet cleaning chemical fumes. Now our children are exposed to many more toxicities, including harmful bacteria/viruses, mercury (flu vaccines, fish), lead...etc...so sad

IMHO Travolta and Preston could have helped that child whenever they wanted but they decided to choose Christian Scientology over the welfare of their child. At the very least they are criminally negligent and should be brought up on charges. Jett's life may have been spared if they would have put him first. No religion should put the life of your child second to your faith. I would walk away from Christianity in a NY minute if I had to choose between my faith and my family. Any loving parent would do the same.

I used to be a huge Travolta fan. No more, never again, he is unfit to be a parent.

Don't be hard on John & Kelly. Just because they are in the public eye doesn't mean they are obligated to admit to their son's autism (I have three on the spectrum).

Instead, my heart goes out to a family who raised their son the best way they could. Just like the rest of us who have children with autism. The fact the public know about it now will still result in there being world-wide awareness for autism. Thanks John.

Love to you in heaven Jett.

Um, because he's a Scientologist? Is this a trick question?

Autism is NOT known to be caused by mysterious 'toxicities', vaccines, mecury, etc.

Please ignore ignorant posts by people like Iris M. Gross as refusing vaccines over bogus reasons WILL actually get kids killed.

I don't know why the safeguards ordinary people have with "HIPAA" to protect their rights to privacy of their medical condition, treatment & records fail to reach out to our rich & famous. Travolta is a enigmatic and lovely human being and the world mourns the loss of his son. Re HIPAA perhaps it does not extend to territories outside the USA, but even so I would like to know that the extortionists get the maximum penalties under the law!

John Travolta's son was autistic, but Scientology insists there is no such condition. This is why the story about carpet cleaning chemicals was concocted. Did Scientology prevent Jett from getting the treatment he deserved? This isn't about beliefs. If Scientologists prevent kids from getting help, that's dangerous.

Forget the autism! Jett died from a seizure. His seizure medication had been stopped days prior to his death. Focus on that, please.
