Exclusive video: Jeff Garlin gives 'Seinfeld' stars a break on 'Curb Your Enthusiasm'

Everyone at the premiere of HBO's hit series "Curb Your Enthusiasm" was hoping for a surprise appearance by Jerry Seinfeld, Michael Richards, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Jason Alexander.

The Seinfeld cast will appear in several episodes of "Curb" as star and creator Larry David organizes a Seinfeld reunion show on his show's seventh season.

Even Jeff Garlin, who plays David's manager, told me that he thought they might show up. Well, they were all no-shows, but Elaine, George, Kramer and Jerry were still the hot topic on the red carpet.

Most thrilling moment working with the "Seinfeld" folks?

"What was exciting was we filmed on the set, the 'Seinfeld' set, that was just very exciting for me," Garlin admitted. "And it was also very strange to come in and talk to them about what we need to do for the next take."

"What am I doing here?" he asked."I'm the one who doesn't belong."

It sure was nice of the "Curb" cast to give those washed-up "Seinfeld" has-beens another chance.

"Yeah, [we're giving] those poor people a break," Garlin joked, though more seriously he added: "They're knocking us through the roof now. We're a little show and they're helping us out."

How will they top this next season?

"Obama's on next season," he said, unable to contain a grin.
