Ed Norton and Maasai warriors to run the N.Y.C. Marathon. Piece of cake. No lions.
Edward Norton ("American History X", "Fight Club") will
run the New York City Marathon with three Maasai warriors on his team of 30.
Sure, they wouldn't mind winning.
But their main goal is to raise awareness and money for the Maasai Wilderness Conservation Trust, a Kenya-based conservation organization.

The Maasai often run for days, holding spears and shields to protect their cattle from lions. They also hunt lions for food. Imagine chasing a lion. Now imagine catching one. Makes running the Big Apple seem pretty tame, huh?
Norton got involved with the Maasai Wilderness Conservation Trust about eight years ago. "Their approach to conservation is a model for the kind of partnerships we need to forge if we're going to solve the puzzle of being human but living sustainably within our environment."
Why the marathon-hook?
"We came up with the idea of raising funds by fielding a team of runners because the Maasai are born runners, runners as a matter of culture and heritage. I've never run a marathon before and the difficulty of it is both intimidating and motivating, especially when it's for a cause like this."
Good luck, Ed.
Just don't try to keep up with those Maasai warriors. And look out for lions.

Ed is my dear! I LOVE HIM!!!!!
Fight Club and American History X are so early 90s. He's done The Hulk and The Illusionist, and will be in the upcoming Iron Man 2.
Perhaps that would have been a better lead in for this article.
I love Ed Norton as an actor...but he is way off base on this as a cause...
the maasai men are extremely abusive to women...they keep the women in squalor and 'sweat shop' conditions. The women do all of the work and the men take all of the money and ***** themselves around...it is very disgusting!!
