Plane crash survivor DJ AM found dead in his apartment
DJ AM, whose real name was Adam Goldstein, has been found dead in his SoHo apartment in New York, according to ABC News and other news sources.
TMZ is reporting that drug paraphernalia (including a crack pipe) was found near Goldstein's body in his apartment. A rep for Goldstein stresses that "the circumstances surrounding his death are unclear."
In what is believed to be his last Twitter post, Goldstein wrote, "New York, new york. Big city of dreams, but everything in new york aint always what it seems" -- quoting some Grandmaster Flash lyrics.
Goldstein was the former boyfriend of Nicole Richie and a well known DJ in the celebrity world.
Eerily, less than a year ago Goldstein was seriously burned in a horrific small plane crash, along with Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker.
Goldstein and Barker miraculously survived but the crash killed the other passengers.
Goldstein had long battled a drug and alcohol habit.
This is so sad. And incredibly creepy. Reminds us of that horror movie plot about people cheating death ....

Why risk you life on a cheap ride.
Leave NY and run a hot dog stand in East Orange ....or possibly a taco stand in Del Rio Texas. Maby Nicole will come visit.
at first when hearing about the plane crash,i mistakingly assumed dj am had been killed.unfortunately i never knew of the man,his struggles or triumphs with and over addiction or the ultimate gift of help to other addicts until his ironic death.i to am an addict of 23 yrs. and been in recovery for just over a yr. now, living a life unimaginable in my active using career.to hear all he'd accomplished in such a short life span, putting his demons at rest, becoming well known around the world, gaining notiriety in his career and MOST importantly the love, support and understanding to strangers in life;NOT DISEASE,should NEVER be forgotten nor will it be by this recoering drug addict.thank adam g. aka:dj am,and all others still fighting for their lives due to addiction, and those that love, care, help and go through it with us.HOPE,LOVE FAITH,my only words to anyone stuck and/or struggling are remember a little something this fortunate addict lives by:"from 1st to last breath,on our dying day, know this alone,we all live and die with our CHOICES and MEMORIES.some good some bad,for better or worse, beleive you can overcome the bad choices;memories by making new ones,CLEAN and SOBER ones.
