Michelle Obama wears shorts on summer vacation. And some people are outraged. Sigh.
Seems some people are actually outraged, outraged that First Lady Michelle Obama dared to bare so much leg by wearing shorts on a recent trip to the sweltering Grand Canyon.
OMG. First she wears a sleeveless dress, now this?
But think about this for a minute. What should she have worn to the Grand Canyon? A tweed pantsuit? A ballgown? What do you wear on your summer vacation?
Anyway, it's not like these shorts are hot pants. They are discreet, classic shorts.
Grow up, people. And get real. Michelle obviously has.
And her daughter Malia looks adorable in her khaki shorts too.

Personally it would not be acceptable for the Queen of England or the Princess of Wales etc.. to appear on vacation in such attire. I feel that Mrs O is down playing the social status that comes along with being the First Lady. I do not think she is breaking barriers other than to bring social edicate to a new LOW TRASH level. On vacation in the mountains etc of Nevada or anywhere else I was able to pull off wearing lose fitting cotton capri's with tank and matching dress shirt. And in the hottest weather I carried an umbrella or my aide held it for me. Even on a mule in hottest summer of Mexico.
Nice distraction from the smoking crater that is obamacare.
This is 2009. The First Lady is a mom, educated, attractive and down to earth. She's on vacation relaxing with her family. If she wants to wear a nice pair of relaxing shorts, fine.
Most women her age would love to be able to show off their legs like that! Really!
Classy Lady, by "edicate" do you mean "etiquette"?

Michelle is one classy lady...she's smart, a lawyer, a wonderful mom, and I am so proud of her as our first lady...I am so thankful we don't live in a monarchy with pretentious queens and princessess...our first family is the envy of the world and rightfully so!

Don't care if she wears shorts - but I'd prefer she wear them in Washington. I'm getting a bit tired of her and the kids vacationing on the taxpayers dollar. They've had an around the world trip already in just 7 months. Stay home!
