Jon Hamm on 'Mad Men' and the power of advertising

Jon Hamm, who's nominated for an Emmy for his lead role as Don Draper on AMC's "Mad Men," talked to the Dish Rag about the demands of the hit series at the "Men" season premiere at the DGA on Sunset Boulevard.

"I'm in a lot of the scenes but i think everyone works very hard on the show," he explains, adding  "I don't know about us (he and January Jones, who plays his wife) working harder than anyone else. We're just there a lot."

But he's never had an out-of-control Christian Bale moment on the set and explains that it helps to work with people you're friendly with.

Jeez, is this guy perfect or what?

But in the next video, Jon does confess that he's as much a victim of advertising ploys as the rest of us.

That helps explain his snazzy Tom Ford suit...

Great show. I love Jon Hamm's adaptation of men in the 60's. I worked for a medical office when I was 16 in the 60's, and the doctors were having affairs with women patients. Their office manager had red hair and was very sexy. She would give me advice about men and sex. I had an education working there and they all smoked. Every monday night I would have to work late while they watched Ben Casey, a doctor show on TV they loved.
