Gerard Butler picks 'Damages'' Rose Byrne over 'Housewife' Kelly Bensimon

Is "The Ugly Truth" hunk Gerard Butler developing discriminating taste in women?

Hard to believe. But it may be true.

"Real Housewife" Kelly Bensimon swapped numbers after a night of heavy flirting at the SoHo Grand in June.

But the New York Daily News reports that the "Real Housewife" looked annoyed when she caught the Scottish hunk chatting up beautiful young "Damages" actress Rose Byrne at a Gramercy Park restaurant last week.

Says their spy, "Kelly blocked Gerard from speaking to Rose and was flirting up a storm -- but he couldn't have seemed less interested."

Later, they report that Butler found Byrne, made his apologies and chatted her up in a private corner all night.

Well, probably not all night, if you know what we mean, and we think you do.
