OK! cover of Michael Jackson's death photo stirs controversy
OK! magazine reportedly paid over $500,000 for the controversial "last" picture of Michael Jackson being carried on a stretcher, possibly dead.
But they've gotten more reaction than they bargained for.
The New York Post has reported that Sean Combs and Jay-Z are said to be so furious, "they're organizing a boycott,"
A rep for OK! has denied the boycott to the Post. "This is untrue. No one at OK! has been contacted about any such cancellations as a result of the magazine's coverage of this news event. Any pages booked by the advertising team are running as scheduled."
Even without a boycott, why the outrage over a photo that already aired Friday on the entertainment news show "The Insider?"
OK! Magazine published Michael Jackson's death photo on its cover this week. But "The Insider" showed the same photo on TV and posted it on its website last week. Click here (but its graphic, be warned) to see the photo
The show's website clearly says "The Insider" has the exclusive last photo of Michael Jackson before his death. But there is often a distinction between a print publication and a TV show and website's exclusive rights.
What do you think about this photo being released at all?
Is it disgusting and disrespectful? Or will it appeal to Michael's morbidly curious millions of fans? In a very creepy way, it is their last chance to say goodbye.

A disgrace. That's all I have to say.
Check out the new jonlajoie video on youtube titled Michael Jackson is Dead!
It appears the moderator will only post certain comments....but then I remembered that in the US there is no longer freedom of speech. So when did the media decide it was on MJ's side? Hypocrites!
The world has forgotten Jackson true persona. Whether he did or didnt, he settled out of court on Molesting a child. The country has turned this chester has been back into what he was before he named his kid Blanket, before he dangled his kid out the window, before he covered his kids up with paper bags, Before he gave the children Michael Juice, before he lured children in with a farris wheel, before he ruined Culkin, okay that kid did that on his own but I am sure Jackson fondling him didnt help. He is not the king of pop, he lost that when he started to molest children. He Was a nut job that the world is rid from. So unless you support child molestation do not idolize this sick individual. In my opinion it is great that there is one less individual that can hurt the children.
I was walking in walmart and saw the picture and almost fainted. I used to respect OK magazine but now I will never buy their crap again. They're calling it a tribute it's not a tribute at all it's a disgrace.
I am incredibly disapponted at the invasion of privacy and disregard for human dignity that this photo represents. This was driven completely by greed. No good came from publishing this photo. How would you feel if you were in similar circumstances and your children saw such a photo. Please raise your standards and show some compassion and decency. As Michael Jackson said, look yourself in the mirror and make a change.
The photo obviously isnt recent.
VERY DISRESPECTFUL!! think about it would you really wannt someone to do that to you?!!? your a self absorbant pathedic loser :( that was very rude. i mean think of his family or what happend if one of his kids seen it!! i hope his family sues u for everything!!
That is SO.... disrespectful and shameless for them to do such a thing and it's not justifiable by any means for any of them OK mag must be owned by the same lowlife blood sucking money hungry low lifes at the Insider. Give Michael Jackson and his family some decency and respect during this time. I can't stand how the media has turn a family loss and the world mourning a great man into a cash cow printing unverified stories, and garbage to do whatever they can to have a top story and make a buck.
As for the person judging Michael Jackson and singers etc on whether or not he went to heaven or hell shut the heck up. You don't know where you may end up if you don't stop judging people. Only God knows where Michael is at this point. Look at yourself and worry about your own life. Did God not save the thief on the cross? So who are you to say where he is?? Michael Jackson was no thief and many of things negatively reported about him are lies, or not proven. So what if he sang some controversial songs. He sang a lot about life issues, healing the world, and love. He was a giver and a very compassionate human being. The dead can't speak.. so while everyone is trying to claim what he professed in his heart in his later years as MJ would say "Keep it in the Closet" or just shut up! Let the man rest in peace and allow his family to grieve without all this hogwash the media keeps stirring up and all you stupid posters who think you know every thing. All you people pointing fingers will have 3 pointing right back at you. Get on with your own lives and make sure you're not "doing wrong." I believe he is with the Lord. R.I.P.
wow. i think that this is horrible. i really do, i honestly think that they went to far with this. i dont think he would have wanted a picture of him dead on the cover of a magazine. what happens if his kids see this, do you know how sad this will make them to see a dead picture of their father on the cover of a magazine. im so pisssed of about this, i hope OK gets like sued for this because this is SOOOOO wrong. im done.
