Rachelle Lefevre 'stunned' and 'saddened' to be replaced in 'Twilight's' 'Eclipse'
"Twilight Saga" star Rachelle Lefevre was reportedly none too happy that she was out of the series' third film, "Eclipse."
"I was stunned by Summit's decision to recast the role of Victoria for 'Eclipse,' " Lefevre said in a statement.
Bryce Dallas Howard will take over the role of Victoria in "Eclipse," due out in May 2010.
"I was fully committed to the 'Twilight' saga, and to the portrayal of Victoria," Lefevre said in a statement to Access Hollywood. "I turned down several other film opportunities and, in accordance with my contractual rights, accepted only roles that would involve very short shooting schedules.
"My commitment to 'Barney's Version' is only ten days. Summit picked up my option for 'Eclipse.' Although the production schedule for 'Eclipse' is over three months long, Summit said they had a conflict during those ten days and would not accommodate me.
"Given the length of filming for 'Eclipse,' never did I fathom I would lose the role over a 10 day overlap. I was happy with my contract with Summit and was fully prepared to continue to honor it. Summit chose simply to recast the part."
The star concluded, "I am greatly saddened that I will not get to complete my portrayal of Victoria for the 'Twilight' audience. This is a story, a theatrical journey and a character that I truly love and about which I am very passionate. I will be forever grateful to the fan support and loyalty I've received since being cast for this role, and I am hurt deeply by Summit's surprising decision to move on without me. I wish the cast and crew of 'Eclipse' only the very best."

I see only Rachelle as Victoria...even while reading the books...she is the one in my head. This is really a bad move by Summit....so sorry Rachelle!
Summit is unprofessional. Lack of loyalty to their audience, lack of loyalty to their actors.
See the Twilight movies but then boycott Summit
What a mistake.
In a franchise as big as 'The Twilight Saga', replacing ANY character spells out bad news.
Especially the role of the villain!

i think that is retarded she should not be replace just for a ten day overlap. It wouldn't be fair I like her for victoria and she shouldn't be replaced. A lot of twilight fans are probably not gonna like this. Plus its the last movie she is going to be in so why not just keep her. Its just one more movie. And it really sucks when they switch characters in movies.

Rachel is Victoria... she is the villain... after watching twilight she was already the face of Victoria for me. Now if they are going to re-arrange Bryce Howard's face to look like Rachel then it could work... but since that will not happen get Daddy's girl out of there... and bring Rachel back...
Oh PLEASE, if their precious Robert had a scheduling conflict they would work their way around him...but not Rachelle because she's not as important?

Now this NEWS is something for Twilight fans to get excited about. I just heard that there is a company running tours to Italy with a Twilight/New Moon theme called NovelJourneys.The tours are based on tracing the footsteps of Edward and Bella during the shooting of New Moon in Tuscany.Tuscany and Twilight-what could be better? I hope this tour isn't sold out yet!

i really think rachelle is the best for victoria..and replacing her would likely cause confusion. i love the twilight movies and all but still..BOO YOU SUMMIT ENTERTAINMENT
Scummit allowed Cam Gigandet to work around his schedule to film another movie while doing Twilight so why can't Rachelle do the same thing while filming Eclipse? Hmmm...could it be they want Ron Howard to direct Breaking Dawn and they've cast his daughter in Eclipse so he will do it? I realize scummit is a new studio but I thought the senior executives were all veterans in Hollywood so why are they acting like complete morons? Scummit needs to bring Rachelle back because this is a VERY BAD decision. My friends and I talked about this today and we're ready to just boycott the rest of the francise and every movie scummit does in the future. They are clearly out of control, purely evil, and hate the fans.
