Mischa Barton pulls a Britney, is placed under involuntary psychiatric hold
Mischa Barton will not attend the premiere of her film "Homecoming" tonight in New York.
After a call to police last night from her home, she's been placed under an involuntary psychiatric hold (also known as a 5150) by the Los Angeles Police Department and is currently at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, reports Access Hollywood.
Barton was put under Section 5150 of the California Welfare and Institutions Code by police and transported to Cedars-Sinai. This code gives authorities the power to hold a person if he or she is gravely disabled or suffers from a mental disorder.
This was used to hold Britney Spears twice back in 2008. Under state law, the hospital can hold Barton involuntarily for up to 72 hours.
Morgan J. Freeman, the director of Barton's new film, released a statement that those involved with the movie were "saddened" the actress would not be at the event.
"I along with everyone on the 'Homecoming' team are saddened to hear that Mischa Barton will not be able to attend the film's premiere tonight in New York," he said in a statement to Access Hollywood on Thursday. "Her performance in 'Homecoming' is fantastic, and she will be missed at our premiere."
This was to be her big comeback, of sorts.

When will Hollywierd get a clue? The lack of viewers for the Emmys, Oscars and other events combined with the public's no-shows for too many La La Pa Loser movies (you "actors" know who you are) should send a clear message.... but Noooooo. People are such complete dumbass idiots. If you recall, you idiots, the 5150 for Britney was used because she was psychotic, not because she was on drugs. It is amazing that people are so stupid they assume she's "paryting" instead of suffering from an illness.
