Joan Rivers thinks Jay Leno's new time slot is a great sleep aid and a boon to Midwest farmers
Granted, she's had a 23-year fight with "The Tonight Show," dating back to 1986 when she got her own talk show on Fox and Johnny Carson banned her from his show.
And Leno continued the ban during his 17-year run.
So maybe she has some call to be all bitter and twisted.
But at the TCA this week, she slammed Jay with this crack:
"I think it's brilliant that Leno is at 10 p.m. because America can get bored more easily and go to sleep earlier. When was the last time you heard, 'Did you hear what Leno said last night?' It will be nice for the Midwest because their crops will be greener."
BTW, in case you don't ever want to mistakenly TiVo it, Rivers was promoting her new TV Land show "How'd You Get So Rich?" And if she hadn't made headlines with her Leno crack, how would anyone have known about her new show?

Joan Rivers is a troll. Can anyone explain to me how this woman can make a living? When she finally goes, you can't burn her because of all the plastic. Just prop her up in a corner somewhere and she'll look the same in the next century.

Jay Leno is hysterical. I miss his show so much and look forward to his 10:00 show. That is why he is getting a prime time show, Joanie. You don't have a chance being on the same time as him.
"When was the last time you heard, 'Did you hear what Leno said last night?'" Joan, are you serious? I find Jay hilarious. Your pathetic attempt at trying to make fun of Jay is funny, not in a laughing way, in a way that I view you as a complete tool.
Who is this, really? Is Joan Rivers one of those 80's transexuals that was overly flamboyant about his gayness to get his face on TV? Or is Joan like a cold war era Rosie O'Donnell?
Joan Rivers is hilarious and she is absolutely right! Jay is a pasty white conservative bore whose whiney voice and stale jokes make the show perfect for Republicans and other octogenarian reactionaries.
This Joan Rivers should never appear anywhere. She is so ugly after the sucessful plastic surgery which improved her nonhuman features. Now she appears as a clown. Pathetic!!!!
Children should never be exposed to this monstrosity of a being. She should be sent to the Middle East to frighten the other semites.
