Corey Feldman has been dressing like Michael Jackson a long time ...
Former child star Corey Feldman -- who has had his own well publicized battles with drugs over the years -- was a friend of Michael Jackson's back in the 1980s.
But the two young men had a rocky relationship and eventually drifted apart. They reportedly didn't talk for several years before Jackson's death.
But Feldman, visibly upset and eerily dressed like a Jackson imitator, turned up at Staples Center for Michael's memorial.
It even looks like he is wearing the same same hat he wore in 1987! OK, creepy.com
Naturally, he's caught some heat from gossip blogs about his attire and his out-of-the-blue appearances on "The Today Show" and "Larry King Live" to talk about Michael.
So he's explaining himself -- and his strained relations with Michael -- on his website.
On why he appeared on talk shows: "In the last few weeks since Michael's passing we have been flooded with literally thousands of interview requests. All of which we declined aside from 2.... Larry King, and the Today show. I did those 2 interviews to pay my respects to my friend. I do not feel the need to make a campaign over a life that has been lost. I do understand that there are many questions in peoples minds regarding the relationship that Michael and I had. I have said very little over the years. For one very good reason. Out of respect to the wishes of my friends who wish to keep their private lives private."
On Michael: "Michael Jackson was not like anyone you have ever met before. He was a special human being. He was an enigma. He was a genius. He was extremely educated. He had a brilliant sense of humor. He was a good man. He was the most extraordinary man I have ever met. He had an aura and an energy that was unparallelled by any lifeforce I have come into contact with on this planet. The point is you could never possibly understand what he was or who he was. No matter how much prying or gossipping you do. I was incredibly close with him at one point in time, we told each other everything. I was closer with him than few ever were and our friendship lasted for 18 years."
On their estrangement: "Yes we had a falling out years ago, and yes it was very serious, and yes both of us did things to hurt one another. But in the end thats what happens in real friendships. When people care about each other, they are bound to have disagreements in any relationship. Sometimes they get worked out and sometimes they don't. I was angry at Michael for many years, but in the end I choose to focus on the positive.
On Michael's legacy: "Whether you agree with all of his choices or not, know the facts. Michael Jackson did so much good for the world, it far outweighs his downfalls. People choose to forget the huge amounts of money that Michael donated through the years. People seem to forget all of the hospitals he visited. People forget the magic he created."

just wanted to say i believe he was a good friend of michaels and no i dont think he is a freak would i? whats so freaky about him alot of people dress up as michael jackson, its just a way to pay tribute and show that he was someone to admire, i think everyone should just stop with all the trash talk and show some respect to someone who has so gave so much to all of us, the good that he has done says alone what kind of person he is, so please stop and put your energy to better use and try to make the world a better place!!!!!
He sounds sincere and I absolutely agree with his statement about the way real friendships can have problems and sometimes end. He just dressed that way to honor his friend. Michael Jackson's own brothers wore single sequined gloves. No big deal.
Corey had a troubled childhood and has his problems. He may have seen this as his last moment in the spotlight.

Freak. I think he was a backstabbing little has been. He supported michael and then when they had the falling out went and spoke AGAINST him durring his 2003 trial. And to dress like that at his memorial was disrespectfull and trashy. A true friend would have stuck beside michael thru all of his tough times.. you chose not to do that, and then show up at his memorial dressing in a way to get attention... Your career is over, no matter how much attention you get now, it will all be negative.
I think Feldman and Jackson were friends. I really liked Michaels music and I am a huge Feldman fan! I will always like both of them. I think Feldman dressed liked Michael out of respect for the man. FELDMAN 4 EVER!! I love him.
