It's strange that two of Tom Cruise's thespian wives -- his second wife (remember "Moulin Rouge"?) Nicole Kidman and current wife Katie Holmes -- seem to do a bit better hoofing and singing than acting, right?

I'm a huge Judy Garland fan, so from the toughest of critics (me!) I have to say I wasn't offended; she really did some interesting substitutions in the chords from this great Harold Arlen song. I liked Judy's costume (not to mention the preternatural voice) better. But, good job, Katie! That was a tough gig.
Katie was great. Who can make the legends in the past fade away? no one can in Hollywood.
I thought Katie Holmes really stunk as a dancer and singer. If she was not Mrs. Tom Cruise, I doubt we would have been subjected to that nightmare.

She was entertaining.A class act and she brought online buzz,TV buzz and huge ratings for Fox.
Katie is a below average actress IMO. In fact, she was lost among the hay stack of childhood "sap series" actors/resses until marring Tom. I lost all respect ( the dot I had) when she came out in funky leather, big hair, and did the "We're not worthy" floor bow to Tom during a MTV movie awards ....before baby and marriage. HEr performance was not horrible, but bad enough to make me turn to another channel to wait the torture out.
She should stick tooooo...Umm, well, whatever she really is good at, when we figure that out!!!
THAT is NOT DANCING. It's called walking and posing. What teh men are doing is called dancing.
The open mouthed leers and feeling oneself up is from the Britney Spears school of NOT really dancing.
Ms. Garland held her own with Astaire and Gene Kelly.
Garland DANCED.
Holmes cannot.
Kidman is an Academy Award winning actress who wowed the West End and Broadway with in depth acting.
Kidman played the lead, four characters, one young, one old, all very different.
Broadway sold out.

(btw, when Kidman plays a Russian, German, or South African the accent matches. Ahem Mr. Cruise, the Malibu accented Nazi)
Kidman is AN actress.
Kidman also happens to be a classically trained ballet dancer with a natural grace of movement and for fun recorded a duet with Robby Williams. The song was a best selling record, No. 1 on the charts.
Moulin Rouge requires no explanation, Kidman's dancing, acting, and singing was seen by all.
I think it was a good job. She did great. She just has to ditch the hubby, he is way too controlling!
She looked great! But performed very badly!! She barely danced.. If she wasn't married to Tom Cruise, I think everyone would be more honest in how they really thought about her performance. She didn't know how to lip sync... wsa that her voice singing? why not sing live? Stick to acting..
She should stick to her day job, she was terrible!
