Drea de Matteo is joining the cast of Desperate Housewives, EW reports.

The Emmy-winning star of "The Sopranos" will be the neighborhood's new sexpot loudmouth housewife.

One guess about what her role will be ...

De Matteo, who will be a series regular, will play the matriarch of a new Italian family. Duh.

Casting is reportedly underway for her landscape-designer husband and their nervous young son.

Do you like the idea of Drea on the show? Is it about time some Wise Guys (and girls) got into the action on Wisteria Lane?
