Was Michael Jackson worth more dead than alive?

MichaelJa_Anwar_4594841_600 Fans are rushing to buy and download the late Michael Jackson's music, more so than in the last decade. Memorabilia are also selling like hot cakes. And fans around the world are staging and attending tributes.

And subsequently, millions of dollars are flooding into his company's coffers since his passing. And more will come

So the big question may not be, 'What killed Michael Jackson?' But 'Was Michael Jackson simply worth more dead than alive?'

The latest reports are that it will take weeks for a clear and concise toxicology report.

But it is expected that any drugs found will be prescription medications.

Shades of the prescription-drug-related deaths of Elvis Presley, Anna Nicole Smith and Heath Ledger.

Over the next few weeks, months and possibly years, more will be revealed about the King of Pop's mysterious and bizarre lifestyle and his addictions and habits.

We fully expect the "inner circle" to start disintegrating as its elite members begin to sell their individual stories to the media and grab what money they can from his memory.

Jackson family spokesman Brian Oxman told CNN, "The people who have surrounded him have been enabling him. If you think that the case of Anna Nicole Smith was an abuse, it is nothing in comparison to what we have seen taken place in Michael Jackson's life."

With his death being the cause of the cancellation of his tour, what happens now?

AEG Live had invested $20 million to $30 million in the arena show, not including any advance paid to Jackson's camp, according to Billboard.

According to reports, several of the 50 concert dates were insured. And Jackson had passed a physical "with flying colors," AEG Live Chief Executive Randy Phillips told Billboard in May.

But according to insurance industry insiders, a preexisting condition, such as drug addiction or a heart defect, could mean AEG gets zip.

Will we ever know the whole truth about Jackson's life and death? What do you think?

A tacky story. His body hasn't even been interred yet and you're talking about this? Couldn't you at least be more tactful about it??

Kurt Cobian and Nirvana have made more money after Kurt died than they ever did before the rock star died. I'm sure the same could be true for the King of Pop.

He is to me. I can't wait until he is forgotten again so I don't have to hear his yipping and grunting anymore.

How can you talk about money at a time like this!!!??? People who love michael, click on the link below to hear a tribute song by 2pac's son.

Michael was always loved as much as people love him now. It's just that when you are in the limelight business you have to be active with your fans. I am sure a lot of people were looking forward for his tour next month.

Even though when Michael was going through trial nobody cared what he did. Everybody loved him as an artist. He is & will always be the KING OF POP.

R.I.P. Michael.

The media buzz makes me hope that Saturday Night Live will reprise something similar to its old news desk satire: "Generalissimo Franco is STILL dead."

I believe that there is no dollar amount to what he is worth. He touched so many lives and worked very hard to be what he is and was to this universe. The money he was going to make and the money he is still making speaks for itself.

The money issue will cleared up after all the royalties come raking in. i live in scotland and there is michael jackson stuff on sale everywhere...sickos are already selling off cheap made teeshirts to cash in for themselves..i would rather buy official merchandise and cds so i know that some of the money would go towards paying his debts....im going to miss him, ..i feel like i have lost a piece of my childhood now and I am heartbroken...R.I.P MJ..Love you forever xx

cheap cheap 'journalism'...I feel sorry for all the leeches out their spinning yarns and trying to make money from MJ's death...just like when he was alive. yuk.

why can't everone just let MJ rest in peace if he wasn't famous we wouldn't even know that he passed away so why don't we let his family greeve and just remember him for his music
