Katherine Jackson granted temporary guardianship of Michael Jackson's three kids
According to Us Weekly, she will get what she wants – at least for a little while. The Jackson matriarch was granted temporary custody today at the Los Angeles Superior Court. However, her request for temporary guardianship of their estates was denied.
Permanent guardianship won't be determined until a hearing Aug. 3.
Michael has two children with ex Debbie Rowe -- Prince, 12, and Paris, 11 -- and in today's petition it was stated that the kids have "no relationship with their biological mother." His third child, Prince Michael II, 7, was born to a surrogate whose identity and whereabouts are listed as "unknown."
The children have been staying with Katherine at the family's Encino estate since their father's death Thursday.
Last weekend, Katherine was seen buying sleeping bags and toys at a Target for her guests. Keep reading to see the video.
In a statement, Rowe's attorney, Marta Almli, said:
"Ms. Rowe's only thoughts at this time have been regarding the devastating loss Michael's family has suffered. Ms. Rowe requests that Michael's family, and particularly the children, be spared such harmful, sensationalist speculation and that they be able to say goodbye to their loved one in peace."

My heart and prayers are with the children. i dont think they should stay with their grandmother. they need to be with their real mother or their nanny or both. or a judge should get the kids input too. that whole jackson family is dysfunctional and perhaps michael was the ony really normal one. that house is a snake pit and i dont think its in the best interest of those children to put them anywhere near mr jackson. the entire family strikes me as phony and money hungry. michael was genuine and wanted love and acceptance and look where it got him. god bless him
My prayers are for all of the entire Jackson Family and friends. I feel the children should stay with Katherine Jackson. She seems like a wonderful grandmother. She seems caring and loving and has a spiritual life. Thank you Lesli Smith
I think that it is a great thing that Michael's mother can still take care of those children, of course with the assistance; however, my concern would be what will happen emotionally to those children upon the death of Grandma? They will be devastated!!
Michael was hardly the most normal in the group. Most of the supposed family dysfunction seems to be the result of tabloid nonsense. I don't call being a muslim a dysfunction. Nor, do I call being a jazz giotarist a dysfunction. I think the children should stay with their grandmother. She might bring some normalcy to their lives.
