Don't make Mommy mad! Kate Gosselin smacks one of her daughters
InTouch Weekly has photos of Kate Gosselin spanking little Leah, one of her precious, money-earning, reality TV star babies!
Skip over this content"The girl was screaming and crying. Kate just pushed her away and walked off with her coffee. Her older sisters were trying to make Leah feel better," a witness tells InTouch.
What do you think? Is spanking OK? And is it ever OK to spank in anger? Or is it better to punish in a more thoughtful and reasonable way?

Grow up. Almost everyone spanks their children.
The kid is not scarred for life. No kid wants to be punished and reacts like they are dying for any kind of reprimand - physical or verbal. But they usually remember it longer. As long as the spank is not excessive (an explosive term at best), to the point and the kid knows the reason, it normally works. The article makes you think Kate knocked her out, pushed her away after it was done, and the other kids had to console the kid. Give me a break. Papparrazzi slime and journalistic media type hacks at their best, I'd say.
Why not just take the whistle away and put her in time out ?
I wish there would have been paps hiding in the bushes to catch my mom spanking me when I was a terrible little brat! Unfortunately, we were poor and not on tv.
It's not okay to hit kids. And it is especially wrong to hit a child while in a fit of rage over an interrupted phone call. In this situation an effective reaction would have been to simply take the whistle away. Only a cowardly, uneducated parent with a need to intimidate a child in order to feel powerful would do what Kate did. Most telling in the photograph is the look of concern on the older girls' faces. If Kate was just popping the child on her bottom to get her attention the older girls would have gone on about their business and not given it a second look.
Interesting how many photos there are of Kate "playing" with her kids with a cell phone glued to her ear. The damage control PR people who are setting up "spontaneous" photos of Kate w/her 8 children might want to have a little talk with her about losing the cell phone and pretending to actually be involved with them. Oh that's right - Kate says that everything she does, she does for her kids.
This is crap. The finger pointers likely spank their children as well. The only difference is that they are not in the spotlight with a camera shoved up their *** 24/7. I agree with Jessice.
um... i think moms should have a choice of spanking their children. also shes been under at lot of stress lately, but that doesn't mean that u have to take ur anger out on ur children. geez kids cry wen they get disiplened and with paparazzi around 24/7 and with the camera everywhere. but who am i to judge them, right???
gosselin kids are way out of control. looks like its past time for a little loving discipline. This article must be by a clueless lump who doesnt have kids.
I can think of a lot of reasons to dislike Kate Gosselin, but this isn't one of them. The kid deserved a spanking, except it should've been with a paddle on the bare behind.
Oh shut up Elizabeth! Everyone spanks their kids once in a while. I'm not a huge fan of Kate Gosselin but the tabloids surrounding her are deplorable. And the headlines! "Mommy to Monster!" "Don't Make Mommy Mad!" Give me a break! They're almost funny they're so far fetched.
