Did the Rev. Al Sharpton kick Chris Brown off the BET Awards?
Why wasn't Chris Brown at the BET Awards' celebration of Michael Jackson on Sunday night?
Word is that producers pulled Brown's performance at the last minute.
According to the New York Daily News, Brown's appearance was considered risky business, what with all the bad publicity about his pleading guilty to a felony assault of Rihanna and getting five years' probation.
Reportedly, it was the Rev. Al Sharpton who caused a stir. "Al made such a fuss to the BET executives that they pulled Chris," says their insider.
So did Jay-Z. "Jay ... was very vocal about his displeasure with Chris attending the ceremony. He didn't want Chris anywhere near the awards so close to the court's ruling."
But BET publicists and Brown's camp insist the singer was never confirmed for the show.
That's also what a rep for Rihanna -- who also did not attend the show -- says.

What do I think? I think that it would be pretty damn hypocritical considering the person they were honoring at the BET Awards didn't exactly have a perfect public image these past few years, so to keep Chris Brown away would be pretty stupid. His mistakes should have nothing to do with paying tribute to his idol. If there were no Michael, there'd be no Chris. Besides, what are we gonna do, make Chris Brown a pariah for the rest of his life? Like none of us have ever made a mistake we wish we could take back?
So who made Jay Z or Al Sharpton God? He can't preach then go around judging Chris Brown.
Chris Brown deserved to be up on that stage and I hope MTV has the guts to to it on their tribute because I will contribute to those ratings. MJ was an inspiration to if anybody definitely Chris Brown.
Chris probably couldn't get his stuff together in time. He probably was too nervous or something after being convicted as a felon
if the BET folks said no, or whoever, then good job to them! Chris needs to go pick up road kill and take his punishment, not get up dancing for Michael Jackson. MJ was sweet and gentle, not someone who would bash in a girl's face!!!
Chris Brown's actions made Rihanna miss the Grammys, one of the biggest nights in entertainment and an artists career. She was nominated and confirmed to perform. Instead of her getting the chance to do that, he decided to violently abuse her. The Grammy' had to reorganize the show because of his actions. Rihanna was hospitalized because of his actions, lets not forget.
So what if BET did not allow him to perform? They had a valid reason, he was just convicted of a crime, has yet to make any sort of public apology for his actions, but him and his team find he should be given a pass in the industry? They want people to act as if the night of feb 8th never happened.
He, his fans and his team need a serious reality check.

Bottom line is J did that coz Chris Brown woulda stolen the whole effing show, no one woulda been talkin about nothing but how he killed it taking the shine off Jayz "D.O.A" Premiere making it quite irrelevant. NOBODY woulda remember that mediocre ish if Breezy woulda come out
