Chris Brown pleads guilty to felony assault, gets 5 years probation
Chris Brown pled guilty to one count of felony assault against Rihanna today.
As part of his plea bargain, he was given five years probation and 180 days of community labor in Virginia.
According to L.A. Now, he must obey a protective order and a stay-away order, which requires him to stay at least 50 yards away from Rihanna, who did not testify but did appear in court.
She and her lawyer discussed the protective order with the judge, who agreed that because the two might appear at the same events, the 50-yard stay-away would become a 10-yard order.
Ah, red carpet ex-lovers proximity.
Don't ya want to be on the red carpet when Chris is 10 yards from Rihanna? Yeah, like that will ever happen.
Rihanna is also forbidden from contacting Brown.
As if.
Brown's attorney Mark Geragos addressed the media afterward: "This is a kid who has never been in trouble before. He embraces this as a chance to get the message out that domestic violence will not be tolerated. He wants to get his life back on track."
How do you feel about this sentence? Too much or not enough? Was justice served?
What would you have given him?

It's a shame. One way or another if you have money you escape the right punishment out from you behaving like a criminal. Evidence above evidences, this sham about Chris Brown. He pleads guilty after for months he avoided even to mention the fact (like we are all part of a new and dirtier version of Life on Mars, maybe...) and he gets service (180 days? RIDICOLOUS!) instead of jail time?
What kind of message is this for young (and elder) people? Just make money so even against photographic evidences you will be above the law?
It's repulsive.
And all this has also to do with Miss Fenty recalcitrating behaviour in all this. She never spoke out loud against the abuser. She always left shadows getting so thick around this all in the end she cooperated for this criminal to stay free, which is disgusting and degradating for every woman dignified with this name. I guess Miss Fenty sjust knows how to fake orgasms on a stage. To fake this much constantly in her life erased the little of brain and heart she should have shown to possess in all this embarassing and sad circumstance.
I have no respect for her.
And Mister Brown honestly disgusts me. I will get sick from now on, when all the greedy media corps will battle in army to rehabilitate his image selling us again his fake ***. And hersm for all I care.
Hollyweird at its top.
Bleah...
This is an unfortuante situation for the both of them. It is a mistake on Chris's part. Operating under the influence of alcohol. This is not the first time that this couple had a dispute. This is the first time that the assault was this brutal. When Rhianna didnt say anything the first time. Human nature says to a man it is okay. I dont justify either behavior. What should have been her response. I believe she really felt it would not happen again. Now, Chris will be viewed as a womanizer, and he has to deal with this ugly odeal, that this behavior laid domain and if he is not careful. It may happen again. This 20 year old young man had such great press until now. Someone had to notice this behavior and noone would tell him truth. Do you remember Mike Tyson? Where is the accountability? This behavior was laying domaint and alcohol triggered the mad man in him. My question is this has he ever seen his father abuse his mother-tell the truth. This didnt just surface, it was always there. I hope that this young man can forgive himself and get some help with his anger and find out what he was really created to be. Remember, Chris old things have passed away now enter into the new. I have not changed my mind about-I believe we all make mistakes-no matter how big or the consequences. It does not have to dictate your future.
