Madonna 'ecstatic' over finally getting Mercy from Malawi
Madonna is over the moon about getting her long-awaited daughter Mercy James.
"I am extremely grateful for the [Malawi] Supreme Court's ruling on my application to adopt Mercy James," Madonna told Usmagazine.com through her spokeswoman, Liz Rosenberg.
"I am ecstatic. My family and I look forward to sharing our lives with her," said the singer, who adopted David Banda, 3, from Malawi in 2006.
Just months ago, she was refused Mercy. So what happened?
Madonna's previous attempt to get Mercy was rejected after one judge stuck to the ruling that prospective parents must live in the country 18 to 24 months. But at Friday's hearing, Chief Justice Lovemore Munlo called such residency requirements an "old law."
Yeah, that's what that country needs. New laws permitting celebrities with a lot of money to adopt babies.
Mercy -- whose passport is being prepared -- could be with Madonna as soon as midweek.

I THINK THAT IS AWESOME THAT MADONNA IS ADOPTING THAT LITTLE GIRL. SHE WILL PROBABLY WILL GIVE HER A MUCH BETTER LIFE.
