Jessica Simpson's washed up? Perfect Vanity Fair cover girl
Vanity Fair put Jessica Simpson ("You Call This Fat?") on the cover of its June issue.
Why? Because she's washed up, that's why.
Which means there's hope for Lindsay Lohan yet.
She doesn't say anything even vaguely interesting or introspective or intelligent for the duration of the lengthy profile. But here's the funniest part of the piece written by Rich Cohen.
And yes, it's about her weight. Sorry.
"Jessica seemed nervous. Her hands trembled. She ordered a glass of Pinot Grigio. It seemed to calm her. She didn't want to talk about her weight, so, of course, that's all I could think of -- it gilded each question in my mind: What are you working on now [that you're fat]? Do you see yourself as part of a class, with Christina and Britney [or are you too fat]? Do you feel that your relationship with Tony Romo has affected his performance as a quarterback [because you are fat]?"
By the way, during the interview she had two glasses of Pinot Grigio, apparently her Drink of Choice.
Keep reading for her fascinating response to all those mean fat jokes.
"It comes with what I do," Simpson said, "and I know that every day the media's going to challenge me, is going to want to bring me down. But I feel like I'm at such a place that I own myself, and it's authentic. I own that authentic part of myself, and none of those words are harsh enough to make me believe them."
The authentic part of herself? What does that even mean?

I don't begrudge anyone the right and need to find someone to love. More power to 'em.
Also funny is Vanity Fair's description of Jessica blowing her Mickey Mouse Club audition. Sounds a lot like adult Jessica opening for Rascal Flatts...
"When Jessica's name was called, she went out as if to her own funeral. She was supposed to sing an Amy Grant song--remember Amy Grant?--but when the music started and the lights went on, she froze. "I ended up drawing a blank, and obviously you can't do that on TV," she told me."
She may have said all sorts of interesting things. Unfortunately, her own words were lost in the pile of misogynistic rubbish and barbs about her weight that Rich Cohen chose to include instead.
The article was crap, and he should be ashamed of it.
Wow! I detect a little jealousy!! Why don't we have a picture of the author of this hateful little piece. I guess with a name like Snead, we don't need one.
Vanity Fair, one of the most prestigious magazine will brought the 28-year-old Simpson life and loves.
WHO ARE YOU?! Someone should take your job? I thought her interview was genuine and legit, and showed her as who she is. Im sorry but skinny *** LA profiled woman are not as cute as they think. Looking nrmal is cute, jessica is NORMAL, not fat, not skinny, just normal, and god love her for it and everything she said in the interview. Get a job your good at, this ones not for you!
I don't think that jessica simpson should be rediculed this way everyone in the us goes thru this weight thing and that should not be important in or out of hollywood. I think her music is good and I love her shoes and bags and i think people should just back off who are you to judge search the skeletons in your own closet.
I can't believe what people say about this girl. She's nice, sweet, and caring. Just because she has a professional career they need to rip her apart every single change they get?? Jessica Simpson is experiencing life...its ups and downs, weight or otherwise....and you know what....she's still smoking hot. And she handles everything the way somebody should...respectfully. To me most of these people are just jealous because they will never be what she has become and so they feel the need to ridicule her.
Jessica Simpson's body is STILL a hot topic?! Here she graces VF's June 2009 cover. She looks amazing, but this has definitely been a year of ups and downs for the star, look at her transformation pics here!
