Jessica Simpson desperately needs a reinvention. Who else does?
Poor Jessica Simpson talks about her life, her sinking career, fluctuating weight, manager dad, football star boyfriend Tony Romo, and other (yawn) fascinating things in a wordy cover story profile in this month's Vanity Fair.
She talked to the writer over two glasses of wine, never a good idea for a celebrity who has been accused of having a partying problem.
"In short, it's been a bad time for Jessica Simpson: flop, flop, country flop, fat picture," VF writes.
Simpson's career desperately needs a jump start, a new direction, a boost, a tow, something. And hawking a clothing/accessory line and a new fragrance called "Fancy" may not be enough to rescue the actress's showbiz future.
Clearly, there are other celebs -- Lindsay Lohan, Britney Spears, Lisa Rinna, Heidi Montag, Brittany Murphy, Avril Lavigne, Denise Richards, Sarah Jessica Parker, Cameron Diaz, Angelina Jolie, even Jennifer Aniston -- whose careers are stalled, sputtering, switching gears or just plain out of gas.

That's like saying that U2's career was out of gas because they hadn't released an album in five years.
Britney Spears has the current highest grossing tour in the US. Every single show has been sold out. She has had 2 top 5 singles and 1 top 20 single from her latest album which has sold an excess of 3 million worldwide so far. Perhaps you are still living in 2007.
I don't get why Vanity Fair was interested in her other than to make her look like a fool on a grand scale.

Plus, Jessica only wishes she could have been as successful as the women listed above. Even Heidi Montag is more successful than Jessica ever was.
Sarah Jessica Parker starred in a hit S&TC movie last year. Angelina Jolie was an Oscar nominee last year. What about their careers is sputtering?
