Connie Culp's husband: Face transplant looks 'beautiful'

Medium_face front view -1 Chris Amato, a lawyer representing Thomas Culp, the man who shot his wife, Connie Culp, in the face, tells "Inside Edition" (it airs tonight, check local listings) about the shooting.

Amato says that shooting her with a shotgun in the face "was an accident" and "he never intended to hurt her at all." He says his client hopes to reunite with Connie when he's out of jail in 2011.

"I believe Tom wants to be with her, yes..." Amato says. "He still loves her."

Thomas told Amato that he is aware of Connie's near-total face transplant and he has seen photos of the results. "He's happy for her. He told me she looked beautiful, he was glad for her."

Amato also says that Thomas struggles with what he has done to his wife, who has publicly forgiven him. "It's a struggle for him every day."

We can't even imagine. Either living with it or forgiving the person who did it.

Cannot imagine the pain and suffering she has undergone. It is unimaginable that she can forgive him. He can never pay enough to warrant it. He should have been sent to prison for life.

Hi Connie,
I can only believe you have a personal relationship with God and Jesus to have such an incredible positive attitude.
God bless and thank you for reminding me of what I have to be thankful for. You are a beautiful person. Gary

After what she went through, she still loves her husband very much, aint that sweet? He's apologized....he's sorry. I don't feel sorry for either of them. They deserve each other. He's out in 2011...2 more years, and bets on they are back together. A day for celebration.

You are beautiful! We are so happy for you,

Pastor Bill and Deana

when i first saw connie culp's face... I really felt bad and sorry for her and wished that her husband dies in the prison itself....but now that she has publicly forgiven him(which's d sweetest thing of all) and her husband finds her beutiful....i feel very happy for both of them...!! A BIG BEST OF LUCK to Connie Culp and Thomas Culp for their future life!!

Check out the DVD Crazy Love, another true story.

I can only say at his time, that this human being was attacked, and lived through it only to see herself disfigured and she still stays true to "forgive thy enemy",...

Food for thought folks,....I guess!

I am shocked that the husband was not put away for life.

This woman is an incredible soul and I do not think that many of us out there would have weathered that storm as well as this victim, Connie has.

God bless her for dealing with this in the manner that she did and thanks to all of the medical teams that worked on her to bring her this far!

God Bless you Connie!

Watching her interview with Diane Sawyer moved me because Connie's spirit speaks from under her new face. Her spirit touches those who hear it, and testifies to the fact that our true essence is "spirit."

Ten years for attempted murder that very nearly succeeded? Putting a shotgun into the mouth of anyone, let alone your spouse, is not normal behavior, let alone the behavior of one who "loves." She needs to run from this loser.

It is disgusting to see what levels a pathetic television show such as Inside Edition will stoop to for a scandal to boost ratings. It is ridiculous that they would waste air time covering Mr. Culp's thoughts. How can the words even come out of his mouth that he did not intend to hurt her? He is a psychopath and doesn't deserve to have his opinions spread through out the media. Why isn't his face being shown along with his statements. He didn't even apologize! Just pronouncing his "love" to this amazing woman. She has a beautiful soul and deserves peace. What a crock that our JUSTICE system only gave this man seven years!!! And what is that with "good" behavior!! Her forgiveness for his actions and the sentencing he received is the best thing she could have done for her self and can teach so much.
