'High School Musical's' Kenny Ortega ready for Jacko, 'Footloose'

"High School Musical 3" director Kenny Ortega broke his MTV Movie Awards cherry Sunday to celebrate the film's five nominations, including best kiss and best movie.

Although the franchise that Ortega helped create will be moving on to "High School Musical 4" with someone new behind the camera, the director seemed confident in his successor and appeared to be focused on the many other projects he's currently juggling.

First off, Ortega will be reteaming with Michael Jackson this summer to direct the singer's highly publicized London residency. Then next spring, cameras roll on the "Footloose" remake next spring with "Gossip Girl's" Chace Crawford taking on Kevin Bacon's famous role.

Although it was earlier reported that Miley Cyrus would play opposite Crawford in the film, Ortega let us in on some casting secrets on the red carpet, such as "Dancing with the Stars" Julianne Hough's "beautiful" screen test.

As for bringing back stars from the original, Ortega simply crossed his fingers -- literally.

Don't worry, Kenny, we have our fingers crossed for that too!
