'Gossip Girl' Chace Crawford will cut 'Footloose'! Is Miley Cyrus next?

Looks like Chace Crawford is officially the new Ren.

"Chace Crawford will play the lead role of Ren McCormack in the film 'Footloose,' " Paramount told Us Weekly.

Will Zac Efron regret giving up the role when he hears the rumors that Miley Cyrus may be next onboard the dancing remake?

"They've expressed interest in Miley for the part," a source close to the tween queen has told E!

A source close to the production further added that Cyrus "is definitely in the mix."

In the mix: Hayden Panettiere, Amanda Bynes and Julianne Hough, all of whom have auditioned in recent weeks for the part of Ren's dancing partner, Ariel Moore.

Miley hasn't had to audition yet, because, well, what would be the point?

Everyone knows this girl can sign and dance.
