Carrie Prejean explains those new topless photos: Gosh darn wind!
Carrie Prejean, who gets to keep her Miss California crown, thanks to Donald Trump, thanked the thousands of Americans who have sent her letters, e-mails and messages, at a news conference this morning at the Plaza Hotel in New York.
"They have confided in me that they have found hope and inspiration in my story," she said.
She also thanked God "for trusting me with this large task and giving me the strength to stand by my beliefs."
She got a little teary discussing her grandfather and the Battle of the Bulge, and the freedoms we have that he died fighting for. Then she defended herself.
"I'm am not an activist or anything, nor do I have a personal agenda. I was thrown into this firestorm from the time I was asked the question on stage."
But she added that she forgives Perez Hilton. "There must be a deeper issue going on in his heart," she said.
She also talked about the new topless photos released this morning, calling it "appalling that a professional photographer would violate my trust by releasing an unauthorized and inappropriate image taken in between posed shots on a windy day which I was unaware of."

She explained that the photos were taken about two years ago for Bliss magazine, and that it was just her and a photographer standing on a cliff on a windy day. She added the photos should not "have been released."
To sum up and close the news conference, Donald Trump credited Carrie's beauty for adding heat to this media "firestorm."
"Carrie is totally beautiful and her answer, because of that, took on more importance. Unfortunately, that's the way the press works," Trump said, adding with a smile, "You should be ashamed of yourselves."
And everyone chuckled.

She is full of it! Didn't Miley blame Annie for her naughty photos as well? I hate when ppl can't be accountable for their actions. She is a hypocrite and a perfect example of why beauty patients are STUPID.
This woman is as phoney as her breasts. For the record, she went into the question portion of the pageant in 2nd place (much closer to 3rd) and she came out in 2nd place. She lost because she wasn't the best. The numbers for swimsuit and evening gown are public knowledge. Had she been downgraded significantly for her answer, she would have finished 3rd or lower. She seems to be an opportunist getting her 15 minutes of fame. After which she should disappear like so many have before her.
"Battle of the Bulge"?! Just the one when Donald was "reviewing" her pics. What an embarrassment to California! That's the best you can do?
The real story is the photographer. The entire nation should be going after this person.
What prajean did was what everybody does, she spoke her mind on a topic most people agree with her on.
It is the media that insists on making this controversy by continually bashing her. The fact that the times has not does not exclude them from criticism.
The photographer should be strung up under the media glow. He is a piece of crap who needs to be exposed for violating Prajean's constitutional right of privacy.
But alas, the Times needs to stick to the party line, the PC line.

She is not an appropriate conservative spokesperson. There's more to morality than just being against some people getting married. Thou shalt not bear false witness -- that's in the Top Ten. God made honesty a much bigger priority than gay marriage.

glenn dicus -- When Prejean signed a model release, she gave the photorapher the legal right to use any and all photos he took of her as he wished. That's what a model release contract says.
She's only got herself to blame. Nobody signed that release for her.
