Bristol Palin now says abstinence works. Oh, make up your mind!
Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's unwed teenage-mom daughter Bristol Palin now urges young women to practice abstinence.
Even though it didn't exactly work for her.
"Regardless of what I did personally, I just think that abstinence is the only ... 100% foolproof way to prevent pregnancy," she told "Good Morning America." "It's a hard choice, but it's the safest choice and it's the best choice," the 18-year-old unwed mother said.
Ironically, before she became a spokesperson for Candie's Foundation and appeared Wednesday (with fellow Teen Ambassador Hayden Panettiere) at their Teen Pregnancy Prevention town hall meeting in New York, she voiced vastly different opinions.
She told Greta Van Susteren on her Fox TV show in February that teaching sexual abstinence to teenagers is "not realistic at all."
So which is it, Bristol? Birth control or abstinence?
Neither of which you practiced very well.
And don't let the Candie's spokesperson position (and pay check?) sway you.
(Random endnote: We sure do think Alaska Gov. Palin has a more fitting ring to it than Vice President Palin -- just sayin')
More Bristol dish:
Bristol and Levi split up? We didn't see that coming....
Abstinence is not a good idea, according to Bristol Palin, who certainly should know
Sarah Palin blasts Levi Johnston for talking about having sex with her daughter, Bristol

Someone should ask Bristol if she's willing to take an abstinence pledge now until she gets married. Forget her past...but she needs to live how she thinks others should live.
Actually, her comments can be viewed as being consistent with each other. Briefly, it's best to practice abstinence. It's not best to TEACH abstinence. This makes some sense. If you practice abstinence, then you're not having sex. If you have sex just once, then you're not practicing abstinence. Teaching it is unrealistic though.
The apple does not fall far from the tree . . . her mother is a big fat hypocrit & a liar and so is she. One of the poorest choices as a role model for young women. The whole family is just plain disgusting!
Look how thrilled Ms. Panettiere is to be doing photo ops with Bristol Palin.
Well, it does work of course ... for those who try it.
Totally agree with M.E. Also, Bob The Subgenius, that's what I was thinking, too. LOL
