Mel Gibson's wife files for divorce after 28 years!
Robyn Gibson has just filed legal papers to divorce Mel Gibson.
According to TMZ, Robyn is citing "irreconcilable differences." They have been married for 28 years.
Robyn just signed the papers the day before Good Friday.

 So it's a fresh split
The couple was married in 1980, decades before Mel Gibson amassed his fortune that TMZ estimates at $900 million.
Under the laws of California, community property -- which includes earnings -- is divided 50/50.


So she stands to get a sizable chunk. They have seven kids. Six are adults and one is a minor, Tom, age 10.
According to papers filed in LA Country Superior Court, she seeks joint physical and legal custody of Tom, spousal support and attorneys fees.

There have long been rumors in Hollywood of Gibson's womanizing, even on the night of his drunk driving arrest.
Robyn has not been seen at any Hollywood events with Mel for about two decades, preferring to live a low-profile life.
Robyn lawyer is Laura Wasser, who has done past high profile splits for Angelina Jolie and Britney Spears.

I guess she had enough. 28 years is a long time to wait for someone to change their ways. Such a shame. Shame on Mel for not honoring his wife if the rumors of womanizing are true. We all know about the booze. How is it that someone so sucessful, is also so flawed?

TMZ is fun to read, but their opinions and gossip is just that!
The man made a mistake, like many of your friends and family (and YOU have)....this does not make him a boozer or a womanizer. Besides, ppl pay for a ticket to his movies, not to his life.
If he had not done a movie involving Christianity....nobody would have cared to attack him so much. Every time a celeb (Cruise, Gere...etc) expresses any interest in any spiritual group...the mud flinging begins.
Take time to straighten up your own life b4 u spending time worrying about actors. For Pete's sake..there are more important things in this world to put conviction into!

Wow, the super Christian Mel Gibson is a womanizing drunk? I'm actually happy to hear that... always glad when another story of a high-profile hipo-christian comes to the surface, like preachers sleeping with hookers and whatnot. Way to go, Mel!

If they don't change, divorce is the only solution. Sounds perfectly logical to me too.
How Gibson's wife tolerated living with a class A bigot for all those years is amazing, unless she too is a bigotress. Of course Robyn did what all Jew haters do when they need an attorney: she hired a Jewish attorney. It is a myth that Jewish lawyers are chosen because they are tougher than their gentile brethren. They are chosen because they are just smarter.
So ole' Mel can continue his womanizing and making a complete *** of himself when he is in a drunken stupor. Does he attend Sunday Mass drunk?
